mumbai files
for all those of you who are wondering, where the hell i've been - i have been super caught up with social engagements and multiple projects at work. but here's an interesting post for you.

lately, i have been putting the camera on my cell phone to use, usually while traveling. anything interesting i find around me, i try to capture on the cell phone. let's see if i've been able to do a good job 'spy cam-ing'.
1. taxi romance

the couples in mumbai have gotten much bolder. it's really amazing how so many couples in mumbai are using taxis to cuddle up and spend some quality time together.
2. redevelopment

.jpg)
they say soon mumbai city will only be affordable to a selective few. the above are pictures of really old dilapitated buildings (known as chawls) in an area that's like the heart of the city. these buildings are packed with thousands of residents whose several generations have lived in these cramped buildings.
it's a matter of time before a wealthy real estate developer pays a good sum to these residents and comes up with a swanky residence, mall or a business park.
3. inter-connectivity
whoever thinks that india's doing really well in terms of infrastructure, mobile and internet connectivity need to think twice. the picture above shows an entire "web" of internet, cable tv and phone cables hopping between buildings.
see, how well connected we are!
4. sidewalk blues
.jpg)
sidewalks (or foot paths) in mumbai are the most difficult places for pedestrians to walk on. the municipal body in the city comes up with an innovative idea every now and then to break these existing foot paths and filling them up with some new fancy tiles. firstly, i doubt the nobleness of their intentions. secondly, who's gonna clear the rubble that they pile up on the sides making the city dirtier? well, we only hope for rains to come and clean the city. sad but true!
