Feel like writing even more!
I am indeed on a roll today. I guess having a blog is really making me excited. Here's a little interesting thing that happened yesterday.
I am taking Marketing Classes at UCI - working towards a certification in Marketing. For one of the courses, I have to create a PR and Advertising Campaign on any product of my choice. Actually, I started thinking about the final project only late last week (a week before my final). I couldn't think of a product that I wanted to work on. I thought about it too hard.
Then on Friday morning, I was in a meeting at work. The guy sitting across me had his sunglasses put down on the table. The meeting was pretty boring anyways. I looked at his sunglasses and started to think - maybe I could pick a product that's related to sunglasses. Then suddenly I thought of the Oakley's new products that have some earphones embedded on them.
Now, I am not a very very tech savvy person. So i have a rough idea of the product but I cannot tell you stories about the latest tech gizmo that hit the market. So then I went back to my cube and started researching on Oakley's products. So there was Oakley RAZRWIRE and Oakley OROKR.
The idea of the project was to make a complete PR and advertising plan on paper and also have a draft of the Ad (any form) and present it to the class next week. But I started thinking directly of what the Ad would look like. And as I have done for my previous projects in Marketing, I started looking up Google for pictures of OROKR and RAZRWIRE. I collected so many pictures that I almost got confused.
On Saturday, when I started to work on the project, I was actually confused as to which one should I pick - the RAZRWIRE had more advertising material that I could collect but OROKR seemed more useful for its features.
To clear the confusion, I actually went to the Oakley store in Irvine Spectrum and looked at the products and finally made up my mind that I will pick OROKR. By the way, the sales girl at the Oakley store was cute!
And I also almost made up my mind that I am going to buy a pair of sunglasses from the store. I wil have to go with Niki and decide which ones :)
